FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

 

Do I have to know anything about lacrosse to play?

No prior experience is required or expected.  We will teach the basic skills necessary to play. 

Do I need special equipment?

Do I need a US Lacrosse registration?

Yes. US Lacrosse membership is a requirement to play because it offers insurance coverage that protects the player and the program in the event of a serious injury to one of its players while playing in the program.  In addition this membership includes a magazine subscription and parent and player resources.

During most MYL program registrations you will be guided through USLacrosse.org to ensure you have a current US Lacrosse membership.  In the event that you need to register or renew, you will be charged for their annual membership ($30).

What does the season consist of?

- Season: mid-March thru June
- Practice Schedule: Two times per week, usually in the early evenings (5:45pm to 7:45pm) 
- Practices will be at
Nicholson Stadium Complex and the Tenney fields

What is the game schedule? 

Games are usually Sunday afternoons between 10:00AM and 5:00 PM.  There will be a few mid-week games (boys program only), as well. The games last about 1-1/2 hours.

Coaches and other volunteers are needed to ensure this program runs. Interested parents should contact any MYL Board member or email

What do I get for my registration fee?

The $150 registration fee covers MBYLL/MBGLL league dues, the referees, field use, team supplies, end-of-season MBYLL/MBGLL tournament, goalie equipment, lacrosse balls, use of game uniform (must be returned at end of season), etc.
